About EduQuest

A solo Guatemalan developer, building the coding platform he wishes he'd had.

How it started

I learned to code from PDFs and YouTube while I was still learning English. Half my time went to decoding the docs before I could even try the code. A lot of tutorials had bugs that never got fixed. Every free course spent 40 hours on the basics, then ended before getting to anything real.

I got my first dev job in my second year of college, writing PHP. I wasn't specialized in anything: a little JavaScript, a little PHP, some Apache config, some CSS. That's what made landing the job hard. A decade later it makes me dangerous as a team lead: I can help any engineer on my team with any layer of the stack.

Today I lead 8 engineers across PHP, Java, and C#. I watch our juniors go from asking basic questions every day to shipping production features on their own. That transformation, someone going from scared to capable, is what I built EduQuest for.

I started elprogramadorgt on YouTube because I was tired of tutorials that either lied to me or bored me. I teach the way I wish someone had taught me: with jokes, with mistakes on purpose, with the real reasons things work (and break). EduQuest is that same energy, with actual structure.

Where the money goes

Trust is cheaper than marketing. Here's exactly what every dollar pays for.

Hosting and infrastructure

Your donations and subscriptions keep the platform running for every learner. Servers, database, email, bandwidth: always on because of you.

AI tutor costs (Claude API)

The AI tutor runs on Claude API. EduQuest+ subscribers cover their own usage, which is how everything else stays free for everyone.

Development time

This is built on evenings and weekends, on top of a full-time job. Your support buys more hours to spend building.
